It’s not too late to give one of these new gardening concepts a try this year and Sargent’s Nursery has all the 9b98a520-4963-4158-eced-9a8025753afb-thumb supplies to get you ready to give it try.  We have straw bales, conditioning products, plants, seeds, soil and fertilizer.  This year we also have a locally-made, wooden straw bale holder to stabilize your bales in a way that is more attractive than plain old green metal garden posts.  We also have copies of Joel Karstan’s  Straw Bale Gardening book .

We have many customers that swear by square foot gardening especially those with poor soil.  Once you have the dimensions of your raised beds Sargent’s staff can assist in calculating the right amount of each product to get your 1/3 peat, 1/3 vermiculite and 1/3 compost.  We also have the Square Foot Gardening book by founder Mel Bartlolomew.

And of course once your beds are ready we have all the seeds and plants to fill those beds and get you growing!
