It is not too late to do some fall crop planting in the vegetable garden. Once those early crops like spinach, lettuce, peas and radishes are done another crop can be planted for a later harvest.  When selecting which types to reseed be sure to check the time to maturity.  Our first frost in the fall usually comes in late September or early October which leaves us about 60 days.    Basil, cilantro, beans, broccoli, radishes, spinach and other greens are great for a second planting with some even taking temperatures cooler than a frost.

So add some compost and use up those leftover seeds from this spring to enjoy late season veggies.  Sargent’s also has many of these seed varieties left, all at 50% off.
